Lying along the same coastal line of the northwest, 92.4km away from The Calypso Sunset through the A3 road, you can find Wilpattu National Park; one of the most iconic places in the country, popular for leopard safari. This wildlife sanctuary is also home to many wild elephants, bears, deer and crocodiles as well. Wilpattu is a must-go wildlife sanctuary situated within easy reach of The Calypso Sunset.

NEGOMBO BEACH

It’s a one hour drive from The Calypso Sunset towards Katunayaka International airport and you meet the stunning Negombo beaches.
Known as the most happening beach in Sri Lanka, Negombo Beach is an iconic, popular and stunning beach where the golden sandy beach runs through miles and miles ahead, by the constantly wavy, blue ocean. It is a popular spot for so many beach activities as well as sea sports. It has gained its reputation as the happening beach by the numerous parties and other events surrounded by so many food stalls, happening almost everyday.

DUTCH FORT

Built in 1588 by the Portuguese and then taken over and maintained by the Dutch, Dutch Fort is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument. It is known as one of the favorite tourist attractions in Sri Lanka both by the locals and the foreigners. The colossal fort and vast streets running in between the corners provide an absolutely stunning experience for the visitors. The lighthouse at the southern corner of the fort adds up a unique beauty to the attraction with its gorgeous glowing light at night.

KITE CENTER

The Kite Center is another unique and popular spot among tourists where you get to experience Kite Surfing, something that is not much available in many of the other places in the world. SACRED MUNNESWARAM

Munneswaram Kovil is an ancient Hindu temple located in Sri Lanka’s North Western Province, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple’s history dates back to the Chola Dynasty in South India, and it is considered one of the five most important Shiva temples in Sri Lanka. The temple’s architecture combines South Indian and Sri Lankan styles, with towering ‘gopurams’ and intricate carvings. It is a popular pilgrimage site and also a famous tourist attraction. The annual Maha Shivaratri festival is celebrated with great pomp and devotion at the temple, attracting thousands of devotees from around the world.
